The Royal Canadian Mints most popular design has long been the sugar maple leaf. The national emblem of Canada, the sugar maple leaf is featured on countless government agency emblems and on the national flag. It makes perfect sense to feature the sugar maple leaf on Canadian currency, and the Magnificent Maple Leaf is the largest of those coins you will find each year.

Obverse

The obverse field of 2021 Canadian Magnificent Maple Leaf 10 oz Silver Coins comes with a bust of Queen Elizabeth II. This portrait of the Queen was designed in 2003 by Susanna Blunt. It is the fourth-generation effigy of the Queen to feature on Canadian coinage and is the second portrait of the Queen designed by a Canadian artist. The inscriptions on this face of the coin include Elizabeth II, D.G. Regina, and 50 Dollars.

Reverse

On the reverse side of 2021 Canadian Magnificent Maple Leaf Silver Coins, you will find a depiction of sugar maple leaves. In this design, the two sugar maple leaves have long stems that are connected together at the base. The leaves appear to be just fluttering in the breeze as the leaves move across the design element. Inscriptions on this side of the coin read Canada, 2021, and 9999 Fine Silver Argent Pur 9999.

History

The Canadian Magnificent Maple Leaf is the largest silver coin from the Royal Canadian Mint with a sugar maple leaf design. The coins have the latest security features from the mint. These include radial lines in the background on both sides, with those lines limited to the outer rim on the reverse. The reverse also includes a micro laser-engraved maple leaf privy mark with the date mark 21 visible at the center.
